For an unprecedented fourth time in five years, we received a 100-point score on our Little Pawn Chardonnay from the Jagged Rock Vineyard on Black Sage Bench. This rugged land was formerly covered in sagebrush and these soils provide savoury, earthy, and spice notes to the wine. Rosewater and fennel characteristics drawn from these soils add complexity. Planted to an aromatic clonal selection from our Dekleva vineyard and traditional Dijon clones, the floral and fruit profiles combine with the characteristics of the soil to create a wine of rare breeding.
